Where to Eat in Jimbaran, Bali: Watermark Hotel’s W Senses Restaurant

The Watermark Hotel & Spa in Jimbaran, Bali was the ultimate spot to wrap up my Indonesia adventure. Four-star luxury, stunning sunsets, a sunny beach club, and a relaxing spa and body treatment were more than enough to spoil this backpacker. On top of that, though? Dining in style at the hotel’s W Senses Restaurant.

After an action-packed morning of exploring Bali, tasting luwak coffee (made from beans pooped out by a rodent-like creature, no joke!), and visiting Ubud’s gorgeous rice paddies, my friend Arielle and I settled in to the Watermark Hotel, where our first priority was satisfying our hunger with a tasty chicken and vegetable burger at the hotel’s W Senses Restaurant before heading to the spa for a bit of pampering.

Lunch at W Senses

Located on Watermark’s ground floor, W Senses opens out to the pool and garden for a lush view and a lovely breeze. And if the breeze isn’t enough to combat Bali’s heat, the special air conditioned section is a literal breath of fresh air — you don’t realize how much you take air conditioning for granted until you experience Southeast Asia’s humidity!

Blissed out after our massages, we took in a beautiful sunset from the hotel’s rooftop infinity pool. Cocktails were calling our names, so we returned to W Senses, where — just our luck! — we were treated to a traditional Balinese music and dancing performance. A newbie to Bali, I couldn’t explain the meaning or significance behind the various songs and dances, but the costumes, instruments, and choreography were a pure delight.

The following morning, we returned for a breakfast buffet, but I’ll save my thoughts on that for a future post! We spent a few hours relaxing in luxury at the hotel’s beach club before returning to W Senses for another tasty lunch. The restaurant’s menu includes a variety of Western and Asian-inspired dishes, so I opted for a chicken and vegetable linguine, while Arielle chose chicken katsu, both incredibly delicious. I should also note that the restaurant was very accommodating of a severe allergy she has — always a sign of good service. And, once again, the air conditioned room was pure heaven!

All three of Watermark’s restaurants are pretty much guaranteed to satisfy, though I particularly enjoyed W Senses for its casual yet refined atmosphere, entertainment, and variety of menu offerings. Get out and enjoy Bali’s family-owned restaurants and street food while you’re on the island, but for a relaxing meal just steps from your room, W Senses ticks all the boxes and more.

I was a guest of Watermark Hotel & Spa, but all opinions are entirely my own, as always!

  5. It’s amazing how sometimes a little western food and not having to leave the hotel grounds can refresh you when you are traveling. Sometimes, you just need a break from all of the intense sensory exposure when visiting an exotic country like Bali.
